Different versions 3

Too much food, drink and late nights over Christmas? I bet you’re feeling like rubbish at the moment, a little bit down with the sickness even. You need to relax and cheer yourself up a bit and I can’t think of any better way to that than by listening to the Richard Cheese version of Down With The Sickness.

Originally recorded by Disturbed for their The Sickness album, Cheese has taken it and given it the lounge treatment. I’m not sure which of his albums it was originally on but it can be found on his best of album The Sunny Side Of The Moon.

Kablammo revisited

Some of you may remember the asteroid impact video that I posted awhile back which was great but the aspect ratio was wrong and the quality wasn’t brilliant. Luckily there is now a HD version available on Youtube for us all to enjoy, just remember to click the HD button.

Different versions Christmas special 2008

As it’s Christmas here’s an extra different versions for you which features White Christmas  a Christmassy tune that you’ve probably heard thousands of times before. Originally it was preformed by Bing Crosby and Marjorie Reynolds (well kind of as it was actually the voice of Martha Mears) in the 1942 movie Holiday Inn but did you ever think that Twisted Sister would do a cover?

Well they did and it’s included on their 2006 album A Twisted Christmas along with ten other Christmas covers for those of you that like the songs but want the guitars turned up and the vocals more raw.

Hope you all have a good one,

Merry Christmas.

Different versions 2

Right before I present the next cover version to you I have a couple of things to say, the first being that I’m going to try to turn this into a weekly post so if you like it check back on a Monday. Also if you like you can suggest tracks to me so long as they follow these two rules:

  • The track has to be available on Spotify along with the original if possible.
  • The track has to be done in a way that you wouldn’t expect it to be and not just a bog standard cover version.

Now that’s out of the way I can name this weeks track which will probably end up with you in the hills but it’s your choice to either run or dance there. That’s right and I’d have never believed it myself but HeavyDance have done a cover of Iron Maiden’s heavy metal classic Run To The Hills and the worrying thing is that I kinda like it.

Here’s the original taken from The Number Of The Beast.

Here’s the dance version taken from HeavyDance Volume 2.

What’s the world coming to? Remember you will need Spotify installed for this to work.
